Portfolio for HIAP Learning Materials International Artist in Residence 2027:

‘My Beloved’: A visual language of unravelling and restitching considers systems of ‘terminal inequality’* in this piece, which responds to writing from my MA dissertation: ‘harm and healing carried through my beloved. Cloth surprises me with her whole truth’. This text explored material and production origins and how to unravel oppressive systems of mass production and ‘restitch alternative configurations’*.

In response to Bell Hooks: ‘You have been my most intimate listener’. This piece works in response to a practice methodology of cloth as spokesperson, it considers the intimacy with which makers converse with our materials, and the nature of our material relationships.

In response to Dana Sonnenchein: ‘Making something of absences’*.

Installation of textile image prints which developed a visual language of absence and fragility through which I explored ecological and social collapse and reparation with methods of threadpulling and restitching onto found material fragments.
